If the internet was the worst thing to happen to English teachers expecting an originally written paper, unfettered reading of a book without notes, or for Science teacher wanting a solid science project from scratch, then Math teachers can get in on the sorrow now too.

An app called PhotoMath is every math teacher’s worst nightmare come to life as it will solve equations for you just by using your smartphone’s camera! And this is simple math either. The app uses your camera to scan the page for mathematical symbols and will then decipher the precise syntax of the problem it sees and then solve it. Maybe not ready for calculus prime-time, but soon enough (or until they’re banned).

The app is free to download for iOS and Windows Phones users right now. The app is coming to Android sometime in 2015, though there’s no firm release date for it just yet.
