It’s a milk stout, but don’t take it for tame.
Xocoveza Mocha Stout is a this year’s winner of the American Homebrewers Association-sanctioned competition. A collaboration with Stone Brewing, who assisted in the process and gave it the wider audience it deserves, it’s meant to mimic a Mexican hot chocolate, and hits the mark with chocolate, nutmeg, and just enough chile pepper to provide some warmth at the end of a sip.
Layered with tiers of earthiness, spice and roast, this creamy, semisweet blue-ribbon beer confirms that the spirit of the American homebrewer is not only alive and kicking, but thriving at an all-time high. Available in 22oz bottles and draft for a limited time. $8. Salut!
