Google Voice is my default voice mail. It’s also my alias for texting and making anonymous phone calls. I still use my native app for normal texting, but I’ll get to that. It’s easy to use and save for one exception, I’ve had no complaints. Mind you, until now there’s been little improvement but the fold-in to Hangouts promises to slick it up a bit. So about that complaint: I can’t do MMS, which mostly sucks. “Hey what do you think of the picture I just sent you?” When I get that message I cringe.

Google has expanded carrier support for picture messaging over Google Voice. After working with carriers for support, users on 100 different North American carriers — including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Bell Canada, Rogers, Telus, and many more — should now be able to receive MMS messages on their Google Voice number.

Ahem! Verizon is conspicuously absent from the list and I can confirm it’s not working. Please share in my frustration! Do you use Google Voice on Verizon?
