A five-Airbus formation flight is as beautiful and crazy as it sounds | The Verge

Commercial Airliners don’t do formations or airshows. Racking up millions for the airlines that own them is their very narrow purpose. Taking them off for anything, least of all a dangerous stunt, is just bad business. Sometimes you get lucky though.

Airbus is currently launching the new A350 XWB, a next-generation airliner that will replace the A330 and A340 and compete with Boeing. In celebration of achieving certification, it put five A350s in the air at the same time for a once-in-a-lifetime formation flight. Please enjoy the additional photos below:
