7 More Women Being Considered for True Detective -- Vulture

It would seem that a strong female lead role in the 2nd season of TD is so crucial that casting the role has its own drama behind it. Vulture is reporting that even though Rachel McAdams and Elisabeth Moss were in talks about the role, another seven potentials are now in the mix. One of my personal favorites is on that list, but that’s not relevant now is it?

The Wrap is reporting that there are seven more women being considered for the season-two lead spot (Ani Bezzerides, “a tough, no-nonsense Monterey sheriff whose troubled upbringing has driven her to gambling and alcohol”), and they are as follows: Brit Marling (The East), Oona Chaplin (Game of Thrones), Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Kelly Reilly (Flight), Malin Akerman, Rosario Dawson, and Jessica Biel.

If Season 2 is anything like the first, we’re in for a treat. It’ll be good to have a strong female lead that isn’t on her back or other inventive positions for all her scenes. Just saying.
