If this is the first you’re hearing about this then take a breath, it may not be so bad. However, it seems that 5 million (yes million) Google customers were exposed by some kind of security breach that has yet to be rooted out. Regardless of the outcome, now would be a good time to change your password or consider 2-step verification. But if you want to see if the dead has actually been done, there’s a quick way to check it out that requires only your email address. No password, no cash, no nothing.

Visit the following website: https://isleaked.com and enter your Gmail email address in the field near the top of the screen. You will be notified immediately if your account was exposed in this latest breach. And just to prove to affected users that this is a legitimate issue, the site will display the first two characters of your password if your credentials were in fact  leaked to an online Russian Bitcoin forum. If you’re one of the lucky 5M, your next stop should be the password setting on your Google account homepage.  Head over to https://www.google.com/settings/personalinfo and firm things up. Perhaps it’s time to enable 2-Step?! Be safe people!
