Yesterday Sharp unveiled their Sharp Aquos Crystal smartphone with almost non-existent bezels, and today comes official confirmation that the phone is coming to US carrier Sprint at some point for $239.99, off contract! The phone is a looker, no question, but it’s arrival raises some questions for me. 1) Sharp in the Android smartphone world? 2)Jumping right into the mid-range? 3)Where the hell is the earpiece?!

With a 5-inch 720p screen bordered by narrow bezels on the top and sides, the Sharp Aquos Crystal isn’t like any other phone. It also boasts Harman Clari-Fi audio “restoration” tech to compensate for audio compression With an 8MP camera on the back with 1.2MP on the front, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB for storage, and an embedded 2040mAh battery,  you get a striking design with lower-mid-range specs. Value proposition? I suppose style rules this one.
