Well this is definitely something different (for me at least). This is the craft-brew house’s interpretation of Gose (pronounced “Gose-uh”), a traditional German-style sour wheat beer brewed with coriander and salt. Once written off completely, this refreshing style is making a comeback, with Westbrook leading the charge.
So what’s the big deal and why is this relevant now? Well, it’s a perfect summer refreshment in a can as the Gose is both sour and a bit salty, providing a tart sipper that clocks in at just 4% ABV. Originally brought back in April of 2012, it’s still being pumped out and available in draft and 22 oz. bottle as well. Grab a 6-pack where available for $12.
