This just in: John Chen’s continuing mission to turn things around at Blackberry with the addition of top talent at the helm continues. Marty Beard has been appointed as COO and starts the new role immediately.
With his previous experience, at Sybase and LiveOps , Marty is well positioned to do some good. He’s not exactly market center from a hiring perspective, but he’s got the chops. Are we giving him an over/under or do we think he’ll stick it out? Is this a good sign for Blackberry in light of another round of high profile departures at companies like HTC and mass-layoffs at Microsoft?
