What can I say, I’m a Mazda fan. Big or little (from my former CX-9 to my current CX-5 to my former RX-7) they get the job done in a sporty, peppy way few can replicated.
You’re looking at a production Mazda Demio, to be called the Mazda 2 in North America in 2016. The smaller the canvas that Mazda stretches it over, the better the Kodo design language looks. You’ll remember Kodo made an appearance with the original CX-5 a few years back and then found its self into the CX-9, Mazda 3,6, and now 2. Those multi-element headlights seem yanked right out of some Alfa Romeo designer’s sketchbook. And the wheels, while smaller, are tasteful.
And guess what, small car doesn’t mean skimping on the interior. The production Demio incorporates an elegant, scaled-down version of the 3’s cockpit. It’s clean and premium-looking. No word yet on the engine but figure the latest generation SkyActive tech will be employed. Here’s to the little guys.
