Oh how I covet thee, new edition to the Cartier family. If you were wondering how the famed maker of the iconic Tank could outdo themselves, your answer is right before your eyes. You’re looking (or rather staring longingly as I am) at the most iconic silhouette in all of watchmaking with a completely carved out interior, showing off a skeletonized in-house movement between two sapphire plates. But that iconic silhouette is where things end and off we go in a completely different direction.

The white gold LC case is 39.2mm x 30mm and only 7.45mm thick; a classic medium size. Both the front and back are sapphire and there is an additional partially-sapphire plate in the center that holds the movement. Finishing things off is the classic Tank crown set with a blue cabochon sapphire. That movement is a caliber 9616 MC and everything in there is hand-finished and painstakingly detailed. Manually wound, you’ll get three days out the reserve – more than enough time to appreciate the 159 components (21 jewels) all working in harmony for your viewing pleasure.

The Cartier Tank LC Sapphire Skeleton will set you back $53,500 and comes in white gold only. Enjoy!
