I don’t know if I’ve ever fully articulated my disdain for the “sport bag” or “gym bag” or typical duffle, but I loathe them. Formless and cheap, they’re usually an afterthought. They don’t keep the elements out, because whatever you’re throwing into them doesn’t matter enough to be put in a more structured bag and likewise, they don’t do a very good job of hiding whatever you’ve got inside for the same reason.
For $160, Filson takes a slightly different approach. Their rugged, vinyl-coated polyester mid-sized duffle is ideal for transporting gear out in the elements . Its roll top with hook-and-loop closure, webbing handles and removable shoulder strap provide protection from wear, water and dust. Oh yea, and it looks good too.
Made for travel, field, or every day use, it can be brushed or wiped clean, measures 25″ x 12.5″ x 12.5″ and is made in the USA of imported material.
