Throw together enough carbon fiber, kevlar, 3D printed parts and circuitry and you’d have yourself the world’s lightest electric skateboard. It wouldn’t be perfect but it would be just about indistinguishable from a typical one. It’s great in theory, isn’t it? Too bad I don’t have $1,200 in disposable cash lying around…

The Marbel Board was designed to be lightweight, fast, and easy to use. The entire Marbel electric skateboard weighs in at a record setting 9.9 pounds. Lighter than any electric vehicle in the world.  It has enough power to go 20 MPH uphill, will take you 10 real world miles per charge, and all of the electronics and batteries are completely integrated into the carbon fiber / kevlar deck. On top of that, it connects with your smartphone to fully customize your riding style and even control the throttle of your board. Or you can use a hand-held throttle. Want to take it easy and use just 6% of its power? Try Startup mode. Want to save energy by using an algorithm to make things efficient? They’ve got ECO mode. (You can charge it up from empty in 90 minutes) Or just flip it to Sport and knock your socks off at 20MPH. If you’ve got the cash and are willing to wait until January, go for it!
