Looking for something different that’ll make you laugh? Watch Louie. Louie is a series on the FX, written, directed, edited, and produced by the show’s creator, stand-up comedian Louis C.K. He also stars in the show as a fictionalized version of himself, a comedian and newly divorced father raising his two daughters in New York City. The show has a loose format atypical for television comedy series, consisting of largely unconnected story lines and segments that revolve around Louie’s life, punctuated by live stand-up performances. I like it.
Not that you couldn’t survive knowing what happened, but just putting out there that this site does recaps, so when you click through to learn about the show from one of my (and America’s) favorite comedians, you’re sure to learn about what happened on last night’s episode.
Last night’s show had plenty of laughs. Oddball heart-to-hearts between father and daughter, odd romantic scenes and equally awkward dialogue between doctor/neighbor characters. The pinnacle was this exchange:
Doc: “Look at this dog.”
Louie: “What’s its name?”
Doc: “Doesn’t have a name. How many legs does it have?”
Doc: “The answer is it has plenty of legs.”
