Don’t get too excited yet as this is a Moto-branded exclusive (specifically on the Moto E). That being said, porting apps isn’t exactly the hardest thing in the world. The new app is called Motorola Alert. It does a couple of things things pretty smoothly: 1) It sends breadcrumbs after you trigger an alert, periodically sending your location to friends and family you designate. 2) It will act as a sort of geo-fence notification service that notifies you when people arrive at a particular place. The recipients of the notifications don’t have to have Motorola Alert installed.

Nice little piece of development Moto – and we were just getting used to the newest “Google Company.”
