In what I can only describe as an inevitability, BlackBerry has announced that alternative mobile device management (MDM) systems can now support BlackBerry 10. In the wake of this, AirWatch, Citrix, and IBM are already showing interest in supporting BB10 in their respective MDM solutions. BlackBerry will of course continue to be offering BES as their own solution to businesses looking to wrangle Android, iOS, and BB10 devices.

This is quite an indicator for how BlackBerry is thinking these day. While it has traditionally held a pretty firm grip on their devices, a more flexible platform makes for wider adoption which they sorely need. My question is do customers need options in this context?
